Beehive Business Park set for decision

South Lakeland District Council decides on Thursday, April 26th 2018, whether to approve plans for the Beehive Business Park in Ulverston.

The development will bring Aldi and M&S Food stores to the town and secure hundreds of jobs at other businesses to be based at the Beehive.
The plans have sparked fierce debate in the town with the majority of shoppers wanting it to go ahead to give greater shopping choice, and many of the town's traders opposed because of fears about its impact on their businesses.
Trafalgar Public Relations has managed stakeholder relations for developer Rawdon Property Group throughout the consultation period in 2017, and in the run-up to the planning decision, using the press and social media to generate support for the plans.
In April Ulverston Town Council voted in favour of the plans - reversing its previous decision to oppose the Beehive development.  The councillors voting in favour cited the wave of huge public opinion backing the development.
